Your Day is Our Day is a children’s book that compares days in the life of a child living in a Russian orphanage to a child living in America. The two boys live their lives across the world from one another. The Russian orphan, Vitalij sits in row of thirteen on numbered potty seats at only six months old while, Jack, living in the US sits on a cushioned toilet seat decorated with Sesame Street characters in one of three big bathrooms in his house. Vitalij is crammed into a broken down stroller overflowing with four children as five more children walk hands clenched to the apron ties of their caretaker. Jack walks with his mom and dad in a Maclaren stroller to the end of their neighborhood where the ocean is. They have a family picnic and Jack fishes with his father. It is not until the end of the book that the reader learns that Jack is John Sergei who was adopted from the same orphanage Vitalij now lives in. Vitalij later becomes Charles Vitalij, Jack’s younger brother.

A Guide to Russian Adoption: Professional Counseling and Personal Insights and Your Day is Our Day will be available for sale in the upcoming months. You will be able to purchase them through this site as well as your local bookstore.
